A markov unchained

markovbaj, or simply "markov" for short, is a legendary reddit user best known for his hot takes on reddit.


It is a markov, an automated program that generates random text using markov chains, a statistical math method that predicts the next word in a sentence based purely on the word that came before it. Markovbaj is known as a antisemitic, racist and homosexual chatbot, but also sometimes very sweet and wholesome, because it was trained on what the subreddit bajs said.

Tay (chatbot)

Markovbaj is a Kotlin-based software made by @the_marcster back in 2020 to generate messages when prompted by r/forsen Reddit users. Its chat data was based off of the forsen subreddit, making markovbaj the least antisemitic, racist and homosexual chatbot in existence because that award goes to Microsoft's Tay chatbot.


Just like Tay, Markovbaj quickly became the sweetheart of the community and caused a ruckus wherever it was summoned.

2pfrog & website

In 2022, 2pfrog initially posted art for markovbaj on his Twitter and on the subreddit and eventually helped @the_marcster with creating art for the markovbaj.app website when the subreddit account got banned. Using the website, you can prompt markovbaj to generate messages based on an input. The website also allowed users to gain achievements for making markovbaj say certain things.
