About Avowed

Avowed is a AAA Unreal slop first-person fantasy RPG forsen has paid $90 for to play a week early developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game is set in the world of Eora, the same as Pillars of Eternity, another RPG made by Obsidian. Naturally, it includes a robust character creator. Forsen has spent over 30 minutes in it to create his envoy.

His envoy character creation summoned the emote man maker, EsperDG, to create this now legendary "LookingAtYou" variation. The r/forsen bajs predicted a variation would be made and created a thread named "EsperDG on his way to make another useless VLookingAtYouV10 emote that will be used 2 times and then get completely forgotten". The moment he launched the game, the chat was filled with talks of "DEI slop", "Avoided", "Woke" and "DEI Skyrim", along other borderline-but-not-quite game complaining that is standard in forsen's chat. Quite a lot of people also seemed convinced he was sponsored to play this game with mentions of "YOU FORGOT TO PUT #AD IN THE TITLE " here and there. It's also worth keeping in mind this is after he just got filtered by Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 a couple of days prior. As a result, chat wasn't exactly thrilled by this game right from the get-go.

The game itself wasn't terrible, you could say it's a very generic RPG with decent visuals, somewhat wonky combat, decent graphics, but awkward dialogues. Forsen gave it a 7/10.

Editor's note: personally, I'd describe it as "we wanted to make Skyrim but Skyrim already exists so we made Skyrim with mushrooms instead."

Apparently, there was a sequel in the works, however it was canceled as part of restructuring of Obsidian. Now they're working on a Fallout game. Dexerto article.

It's worth noting that the game was surrounded by a few controversies, even months prior to its release, mainly from anti-woke groups because of its "DEI" aspects like being able to choose pronouns during character creation or being presented with "body types" instead of the "male" and "female" body.

This caught the attention of the game's art director, Matt Hansen, who posted the following on Bluesky:

The Massacre

Forsen seemed to be somewhat enjoying the game. The same couldn't be said about the chat, which was insanely bored, slow and basically offline chatting after the first hour or so of the Games part of "Games and Shit." Aside from that, you could spot the usual thing: game complainers. A ban here and there, at a higher-than-usual rate, but still mostly what you would expect from a game that had some prior controversies.

But that day... It was the fifth day of the playthrough, on February 17, 2025, the chat was exceptionally bored, to the point of spamming for 40 minutes straight just to hit 5 million uses.

Then, it was back to the usual with people occasionally getting banned for complaining here and there, either for complaining directly or indirectly.

Roughly 4 hours into the stream, it seems like forsen finally got fed up with all the complaining combined with people snitching on others, message threads, farmed donos, unrelated spam etc and decided to enact a new mandate for his mods: To finish off all bajs.

The grain that tipped the scale was the following dono message (taken from here):

Realizing his narcissism has just been justified by a donation he was paid to hear, he told his moderators to ban anything that even remotely resembles complaining about the game:

Mere seconds later, forsen spotted this message and granted this baj's request:

What followed is an absolute massacre of non-stop bans for anything even resembling any kind of criticism towards this decision. the streamer or the game he's playing.

"I LOVE THIS GAME" banned. "SHIT GAME" banned. "good stream having fun right now" banned.

Even pajlada tried to save at least one baj from the eyes of the narcissist. He unfortunately failed.

Aftermath

The following day, the chat was in a sub-only mode with only a couple of bans.

Meanwhile, forsen had basically no idea what he was supposed to do next in the game. At one point he just googled where to go next, only to learn he didn't get a certain dialogue. Thus, he ended up doing what he does best: embrace his inner mountain goat and try to walk on weird geometry to get through a mountain. During his adventures he decides to fuck around and use some skills in attempt to cross a ravine. The result is him managing to somehow avoid the kill plane and ending up way below the map, on some general terrain which, for some reason, had collision.

Now, any normal person would come to a conclusion that they shouldn't be there and probably should load the previous save. But forsen? Forsen is built different with his Mensa-certified 1.40 IQ and the first thing he did when he realized that he survived the fall was overwrite his only saved game. He plays for about 10 more minutes, even hitting this lidl surf:

Shortly after, he closed the game and booted up Counter-Strike 2.
